The Eastmorland Community Association (ECA) will hold its 17th Annual Leaf Raking Party at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2021 (rain date 1:00 p.m., Sunday, November 7).

Please join us as we go around our neighborhood to rake for neighbors who are not able to rake their own yards due to health reasons. We need volunteers to rake, and kids are welcome to help.

Meet at the Olbrich Park shelter on Walter St. (near the red/green playground, across from the intersection of Walter and Sargent Streets). Volunteers will disperse in small groups from there. Some volunteers walk the route; others choose to drive. Please bring your own water bottle, rake, gloves, and a plastic tarp if you have one.

After the raking, volunteers and members of households whose yards were raked are invited to return to the park shelter, where the ECA will provide pizza and beverages at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday (or 3:30 p.m. on the rain date). Participants are asked to bring any other food items they want for their families; due to the pandemic, we will not be sharing food other than the pizza. Bathrooms will not be open at the park shelter.

We are collecting names/addresses for ECA residents who need assistance with raking. If you or someone you know needs assistance for health reasons, please contact Kris Whitman by November 1 (see contact info below) and provide the name, address and phone number where we can reach the person who needs assistance. Yards must be free of dog waste to be raked.

If you have questions please contact Kris Whitman at 608-228-6654 (call or text) or kwhitman@uwalumni.com

Thank you in advance for any volunteer help you can provide!
