Our park ash trees must be treated every three years according to current city policy. We must have all the treatment funds and treat them again by July 2021. The cost of the treatment in September 2018 was $6,311. An increase in the cost is anticipated for this year. Please donate any amount as every dollar adds up to save a beautiful shade tree.
In 2015 and 2018, hundreds of wonderful neighbors, friends, and park lovers worked together to treat and save some of Eastmorland’s most beautiful park ash trees from being cut down due to emerald ash borer (EAB). Donations came in from Madison, Middleton, Rio, Fitchburg, Milwaukee, and even Tel Aviv, Israel.
We saved 22 trees in Olbrich Park, six in O.B. Sherry Park, four in Eastmorland Park, and one in Ontario Park. Together we saved the healthiest, largest ash trees, all 50 to 100 years old, with one over 200 years old.
